After 30 years in engineering working for a Fortune 500 company, I felt called to step away from the corporate world and into something more personal. That transition allowed me to reflect on what I truly wanted next. I wanted my work to matter in a tangible way, to make a positive difference in the community and in people’s everyday lives.
I was drawn to Surv because of its roots and its heart. Pat’s story of serving neighbors and building community deeply resonated with me. Growing up in Costa Rica, I spent many afternoons helping my grandmother’s neighbors with whatever they needed. Those small acts of service stayed with me and quietly shaped the way I’ve moved through life ever since.
Surv’s principles align naturally with my own values of professionalism, ethics, and genuine care for others. Once I met the team and saw their commitment to serving people with integrity and kindness, the decision felt easy and right.

How We Build Our Team

Recruit

Surv looks for people who are oriented around serving others. These are lifestyle-driven people who see a deeper purpose in helping their community.

Verify

Prior to providing help around the home, recruits go through an interview (phone and in-person), as well as full background and reference checks.

Train

All new Surv workforce members are paired with our foreman mentors who have extensive experience in odd jobs and in individually mentoring local workers.
